On today’s show I’ll be talking with Kris Wilson, the new Program Manager for USGBC Idaho. Kris brings a background in environmental resource protection, a diverse skill set and a motivation for promoting green building practices to the position. In 2000, Kris graduated summa cum laude with a Biological Resources degree from the University of Northern Iowa. He went on to work in climate change ecological impact and carbon cycle research. Since relocating to Idaho in 2008, Kris has worked in applied water resource conservation and as an administrator for energy efficiency, alternative energy, and economic revitalization projects in rural Idaho. He subsequently managed the Idaho Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund which finances environmental contamination clean up projects throughout the state. Most recently, Kris worked with Community Rebuilds, a Utah based affordable, sustainable housing organization that developed an award winning green building education and economic improvement program using straw bale construction techniques. We hope you can tune in to 89.9 at noon today, or stream the show live at http://mainsite.radioboise.org/ to hear more about the newest member of the USGBC Idaho team. If you missed the show, it is available as a recorded podcast.
