We continue our Back to School theme today with a conversation with Blake Schnebly from SustainingUS a local sustainability consulting firm. Blake has been working with Riverstone International School to develop and evolve their sustainability programming and has had quite a few successes. Haley Falconer doesn’t train falcons – at least at this point – but she does work to help meet the City of Boise’s goal to become the most livable city in the country. I spoke with Haley about her role as the Sustainability Coordinator and Boise’s first “LIVability Report” she has been developing that will be released in April. We discuss the background of LIV Boise, the LIVability Report, and the myriad of programs and goals a sustainability coordinator for a city helps to advance.

jDunn_(2)Jake returned to Boise and discussed his experience working with the architecture firm Eskew Dumez & Ripple (EDR) in New Orleans to advance sustainable and energy efficient design. He was recruited by EDR out of the University of Idaho Integrated Design Lab where he worked as an Architectural Simulation Specialist helping the private sector learn about and implement design strategies for daylighting and energy efficiency.

We were bummed to lose Jake as a co-host of Building a Greener Idaho when he left for New Orleans, but glad to see him doing important work out in the private sector designing high performance, green buildings and experiencing the culture of the Big Easy.
