Continuing our September back to school theme, I discuss the genesis and current status of sustainability education at Boise State University with Professor Scott Lowe. Our conversation covers the history of sustainability in higher education and Boise State’s three primary sustainability programs, the Environmental Studies undergraduate degree, the Sustainability Minor in the Department of Economics, and the Responsible Business Initiative.

We continue our Back to School theme today with a conversation with Blake Schnebly from SustainingUS a local sustainability consulting firm. Blake has been working with Riverstone International School to develop and evolve their sustainability programming and has had quite a few successes. Green Apple Day of Service is a catalyst for people who want to take action, organize community resources and complete a service project that will have a positive impact on their local school environment and beyond. Today, I speak with Brady Barkdull, Project Manager with Snake River Builders and Board Member with USGBC Wyoming. Brady shares his experience using the Green Apple Day of Service online platform and resources to organize successful school improvement projects in Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming.
